1963 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
KEISER, Mark Christopher Of Boston, age 50, left us all too soon on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, when he went for a morning walk along the Charles River in Boston and Cambridge and was hit by a car. Mark was an architect, and Boston was his passion and inspiration. He loved this city, Beacon Hill, and New England, and he dedicated himself to making the places he lived in and the buildings he worked on into something more beautiful for all.He was born in Philadelphia, PA, and grew up in Acton, MA. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth McCann of Boston, with whom he was with for nearly 20 years. He is also survived by his loving parents John and Carol Keiser of Santa Fe, NM, and Tierra Verde, FL; his brother John Keiser and his wife Pamela Santana Keiser of Tampa, FL, and Crested Butte, CO; his sister Kristen Kennelly and her husband Thomas Kennelly of Duxbury, MA; and his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins. He received Bachelors' degrees from Rhode Island School of Design, and his Master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He taught architecture at the ETH Zurich in Switzerland, Rhode Island School of Design, and was looking forward to teaching a class this fall at the Boston Architectural College. Mark was active on the Beacon Hill Civic Association's Architecture Committee. He was an architect at Wilson Architects in Boston, and had previously practiced at EYP and Kallmann McKinnell and Wood in Boston. He also practiced in Tampa Bay, FL; Santa Fe, NM; and Dresden, Germany. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 29 at 10 am at Trinity Church in Boston. His family thanks God for every day he shared him with us. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mark C. Keiser may be made to the Boston Athenaeum.
