Pierre, I am sorry that your father has passed on. There are some lovely traditions we might invoke here to make sense of our time and place on the planet. From what I have read, your father make optimal use of both, as an artist and as a man.

Pierre, all of the members of your "favorite" committee want to express our sincere sympathy. Your father must have been a fascinating man, and I was personally sorry to read of his passing. It is so difficult to lose a parent--when my own father died I was reminded of the days I used to teach Emily Dickinson to 11th graders--there was a great line in one of her poems.
