Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2007.
100 who died on 8/18/2007 was born on Jan 7, 1907 in Khabarovsk, Siberia, Russia. She was the daughter of the late Ermolai Pavloff and Daria Timofeevna Pavloff and had 4 brothers the late George, Walter, Nicolai & Victor who were also born in Khabarovsk. She and her father & 2 brothers fled Russia during the Russian Revolution & moved to Harbin, Manchuria, China in 1924. She married a Yugoslavian musician working there with his family, named Alexei. He was the manager of a family group there which was one of many far east locations where they performed under the name of the Apollo Serbian Band while stationed in Kobe, Japan. Alexandra had 2 children named Vladimir born in Singapore, Malaya & Suzannah born in Shanghai, China, who performed later on with other family members including Alexei's brothers, while based in Kobe, Japan. This family group moved from Kobe, Japan in late 1944 to Tientsin, China in view of Japanese travel restrictions which made it impossible to continue their entertainment activities in Japan so they moved again to Tsingtao, China, where they were able to continue their entertainment business by providing musical entertainment to American Navy, Marine & other U.S. Forces in Tsingtao stationed there before and after World War II. Alexandra was the star of the show which traveled all over the Far East including many different parts of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore & other countries. Alexandra & her husband Alexei & the rest of the music band moved from Shanghai to Sao Paulo, Brazil & secured visas for entry into the United States to join her daughter & family. Alexei died in 1963 & is buried at the Orthodox Russian Cemetery in Spring Valley, New York. Alexandra remarried to Tima Dronoff several years later & lived with him until he died in Lakewood, New Jersey in 1993. Alexandra lived with her daughter & son in law Carl for the past 10 years. She will be buried in a family plot where her son & husband Alexei are buried. She leaves her daughter Suzanna, son in law Carl Ransow, grandson Robert Ransow, granddaughter Cynthia McCaig & 2 great granddaughters Gretchen & Eileen Ransow of Walpole, MA. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, Aug 22, 2007 at the Orthodox Russian Church & Cemetery, 1 PM in Spring Valley, New York. Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 781-762-0482 Norwood, MA

Cynthia and Robbie, I am truly sorry for your loss. I feel it's always hits families like ours a little harder being on the smaller size. She really was a living miracle.
