Obituary Condolences

Of Reading where he lived his entire life, June 28. "Papa and Jim Jr" at 81 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Bette (Quinn) Boyd. Loving father of Barbara Boyd and her husband Paul of St. Paul, MN, and Diann Korta and her husband Edward of Reading. Proud Papa of Jason and Danielle Korta. Brother of Ernie Boyd of Amesbury, Shirley Buzderewicz of Reading and the late Winnie Semenuk and Lois Perry. A cherished "Uncle Rollie" to David, Randy, Disa, Jill, Cheryl, Jay and the late Phillip. Funeral from the Cota Funeral home, 335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28), NORTH READING. at Reading line, on Thursday, July 3 at lOam. Funeral Service in Old South United Methodist Church, 6 Salem St., Reading at 11am. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 5-8pm. Interment Wood End Cemetery, Reading. Donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, P0 BOX 37, Great Barrington; MA 01230 or VNA of Middlesex-East Sawtelle Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867. Jim attended the ROTC program at Harvard University and then proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Jim was active in town politics, a proud member of the Order of Masons serving as Past Commander of Metro North Mason Lodge #20, Past ILL and Master of Melrose Council of Royal and Select Master Masons.
