Obituary Condolences

THOMPSON, Madeline C. (Larner) 92, passed away on June 17, 2009 after a lengthy struggle with Alheimers Disease. Madeline, born in Somerville, MA, lived in North Weymouth, Lexington, and North Reading, living her final days with her youngest daughter Ann Carter and her family, 4 Willey Rd., Durham, NH, for the past 4 years. Madeline was born on Dec. 24, 1916, to the late Francis and Lucy Larner of N. Weymouth, and is predeceased by her sister Frances C. Larner of Quincy, MA, her brother John E. Larner of Westfield, NJ, her son John E. Thompson of Littleton, MA, and a baby great granddaughter Amanda Elizabeth Alexson of CT. Madeline was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, John P. Thompson who passed away in 1971. John P. was originally from Newfoundland, and Madeline leaves several aunts, uncles, and cousins in the St. John's area. Madeline is survived by her daughter Patricia Venier of Nashua, NH, Frances Alexson and her husband David of New Hartford, CT, James Thompson and his wife Frances of N. Billerica, MA, Paula Thompson of Great Mills, MD, Ann Carter and her husband Michael of Durham, NH, and daughter-in-law Marion Thompson of Littleton, MA. During Madeline's earlier years, she cared for six foster children from Catholic Charities, at different times. Madeline also leaves her sister-in-law Dorothy Larner in NJ, 18 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Madeline was a communicant at St. Brigid's Parish in Lexington, St. Theresa's Parish in N. Reading and, more recently, at St. Thomas More in Durham, NH. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON Saturday, June 20 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, Madeline would wish that friends make a donation in her memory to MSPCA, 350 Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02130.
