Joni, Bill & Family,

My condolences go out to you during this difficult time. Ellen was a wonderful lady and I had the pleasure of being her neighbor for years at Sugarloaf. We shared a lot of good times together with your Dad and grandmother at the house and at Trails End. Best to the entire family.

Joni & family,
So sad to hear of the passing of your wonderful mother. My parents were dear friends with yours in Eastport. I remember your mother as extremely kind, generous and the Martha Stewart of her time. I have many fond memories of holidays at your parent's house. Your mother gave me the most beautiful glass bowls for my wedding. I think of her every time I use them. Best to you and yours.

I was saddened to read of Ellen's passing. During the early "40's" we were friends with a group of girls from Shead High School. After Graduation I became Secretary to her Mother at Argenta. She was a nice teacher to me while I learned so much from her. I can see why Ellen was such a nice person because having such a wonderful Mother. I often speak of the family and how caring they were. I want to send my condolences to the Family. Ellen will be missed. Barbara Mathews Shannon, Portland.

Dear Joni and Family,

I was saddened to learn of Ellen passing. She was a wonderful woman. She was gracious, elegant, charming and a just nice lady. She loved her family. The past few years have seen a decline in health. Ellen was able to be in her home and to be cared for so nicely. The world would be a better place if there were more Ellen Lorings..... it was my pleasure to hve known Ellen all my life. Rest my friend. Love, Tim
