Rocco Damiano Obituary
DAMIANO, Rocco Of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on December 16th at 78 years of age after a brief battle with leukemia at St. Margaret Hall in Cincinnati, OH. Formerly of Brockton, Massachusetts, and son of the late Mary and Dominick Damiano. He is survived by his children: Maryellen Damiano of Framingham, MA; John Damiano of East Bridgewater, MA; Claire MacKinnon of Plymouth, MA; Dominic Damiano of Taunton, MA; Robert Damiano of Melrose, MA; and Theresa Tsilis of Bridgewater, MA, and by his long time companion Sandra Frommeyer of Florence, KY. Loving grandfather of Meghan, Robert, Jamie, Molly, Jessica, Michael, Nicholas, Brittany, Steven, Madison, and great grandfather of Gabriella; all of Massachusetts. Beloved brother of Joseph Damiano of West Bridgewater, MA, and the late Vito Damiano and Jennie Rush. Born in Boston, MA and attended Boston Schools, he was raised in the Mattapan section of Boston. In his early twenties he boxed professionally in New York. He served in the Air Force as an MP in Germany in the 1950s. After returning home from the service, he worked at Raytheon in Quincy, MA. He later worked as a welder at General Dynamics during the 60s and was a retiree of Millwright Union Local 1121, Allston, MA. He was an avid sports enthusiast; in the 1970's he was a referee for the Brookfield Street Hockey League at St. Nicholas Church in Abington. He was also member of Greater Taunton ABUA, umpire association, and an associate of the Florence Freedom of the Pioneer Professional Baseball League of Florence, KY. Services will be held at the Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Ft. Thomas, KY.
