Obituary Condolences

McDONOUGH, Joseph P. Of Norwood, passed away on May 29, 2011. Mr. McDonough was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. As a former Treasurer for the Town of Norwood he was still an active member of the Massachusetts Collectors & Treasurers Association. He was the son of the late Coleman and Margaret (Flaherty) McDonough; loving brother of Mary E. Turner and her late husband Arthur J. of Westwood, Marguerite C. Hawley and her late husband James J. of Norwood, and the late John H. McDonough and his wife Adele (whom survives) of Connecticut, and the late Rev. Timothy T. McDonough; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, a great-grandniece and a great-grandnephew. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, at 9:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, then at 10:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relative and friends are respectfully invited to a visitation on Thursday, June 2 from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
