MERCADANTE, Vincent J. "Big Bill" Ret. Boston Police Of Randolph, formerly of the North End, died, July 29, 2011 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Joanne (Aliberti) Mercadante. Loving father of Anthony Mercadante of Randolph, Vincent Mercadante Jr. of Homer, Alaska, Richard Mercadante and his wife Janet of Virginia Beach, VA, Christopher Mercadante and his wife Rebecca "Becky" of Brooklyn, Park, MN. Devoted brother of Mary Cardile of Taunton, Carmin Mercadante and his wife Barbara of Danvers and the late Dollie Moretti. Brother in law of Edmund Aliberti and his wife Rosetta of Medford, Jeanette Palmer and her husband Ronnie of Missouri. Dear grandfather of Samantha, Jared, Josephine, Michael and Stefon. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Vincent was born in Boston and graduated English High School. Vincent was a retired Patrolman for the Boston Police Dept. where he served for 33 years and was the Co-Founder of the Boston Police Patrolman's Assoc. He loved being with his family and friends. Vincent was a WWII Army Veteran who served in the "Battle of the Bulge". Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main Street, (Rte 28) RANDOLPH until 11:30 AM on Monday followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:10 PM in St. Mary Church, Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
