KELLY, John W. Retired registered professional engineer in the petro chemical and alternative energy field, who traveled all over the world, 87, of Chatham, died October 1, 2011. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Suzanne Celine (deSchaepdrijver) Kelly; loving father of Patricia Kelly and husband Joseph Lettiere of Bedford, MA, Kathleen Kelly and husband Steven McCool of Jackson, MS, Anthony Kelly and wife Deirdre Kelly of Easton, MD, John Kelly and wife Denice Kelly of Presto, PA, Anne (Mimi) Kelly of Jacksonville, FL, and Christopher Kelly and wife Sandra Kelly of Missouri City, TX. Cherished grandfather of Michael Kelly, Jennifer Kelly, Megan Lettiere, Sean Kelly, Stephen Kelly, and Colin Kelly. Dear brother of Thomas Kelly and wife Margaret, Julie Kaulfers and husband Arthur. John had a BS in Engineering from Swarthmore College and MS in Science from Stevens Institute of Technology. He brought alternative energy to the petro chemical industry in the 1970's. He is remembered as a good man and wonderful father, just like his father. He consulted the State of MA for developing innovations in design and construction for all government projects in the State of MA. He was also involved in the development of Life Care Community Centers, and helped small businesses. He served with the Navy after WWII, then began his travels around the world where he met his beautiful wife and found eternal love. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church, Highland Avenue, Chatham, followed by his burial in Union Cemetery, Chatham, MA.
