Obituary Condolences

HANGLIN, Joseph E., Jr. Of Norton, died February 13, 2012 at the age of 88 from heart failure after a long illness. Born in Melrose, Joseph attended school in New York and later served in the US Army during WWII, in Italy with the 91st Infantry Division, 363 Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals. Joseph graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Class of 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. While at UMass, Joseph was a founding member of the Zeta, Zeta, Zeta Fraternity. Joseph worked for the City of Boston and the State Welfare Depts. for 29 years, retiring in 1982 as the Head Supervisor of the Medicaid Program. He is survived by Robin and Shane Boria, plus 17 nieces and nephews, numerous grand nieces and grand nephews, cousins and friends. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, BRAINTREE, until 9:30 AM on Friday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4:00-8:00PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
