Dear Fran and family,
Im deeply saddened that life requires that we lose those most dear to us.
We maintain love and touch with them in our memories, mental conversations with them somewhere on the other side, wherever that may, or may not, be.
Sometimes our conversations are prayers to the ones weve lost that they lend us their strength and watch over the family.
Standing upright and moving through life without our lost dear ones takes faith. Strength. Connection to them and to the family: we will do what our lost love, most-loved one would want us to do and ALSO what our loved, most loved living family needs desperately for us to do.
We have no choices if we wish to survive, for our children to survive, for the larger family to survive. Nearly every human being who has lived long enough has passed over the bleak stretch of initial grief to contribute their own lifes strength again however they can, however it seems possible.
In memory of Hugh, Im thinking of you, too, Fran, and also of days long gone past when we all worked together with common goals and daily affection and camaraderie. Those were good days, and I miss them. I miss the quite beautiful spirit of us colleagues together.
But I remember.
With love,
Nancy ( Hutchinson Erdmann)

5/17/2019. Dear Fran, I hope--and am pretty sure--you are doing well, along with the entire family. We all had some good times teaching at BHS; I feel those we'"re fortunate days. I miss Anita and Eddie Firedtone along with many others.
Tony ( Erdmann, Abby Erdmann's twin brother) and I have seven kids ( we adopted at birth) including two sets of twins. All of the kids are in their twenties.
We live on the North Shote now, looking onto Nahant Bay. Tony walks to the health center where he is a psychiatrist specializing in addiction.
Three of our daughters, the youngest, Johanna & Julia, who are twins and Dahlia. with a twin brother now living and working in the Taunton area, are working but living with us. The house, as a Victorian, has extra room, so we also have two friends of theirs, each of whom is really helpful. We have belovèd twin Redbone Coonhounds, two and a half, Max and Monty, and a visiting Boston terrier, adorable as can be. I'm sure you well know what I mean when I say, although it can be anything but easy, we have to keep quasi- re-inventing our lives as time goes on. xoxo, Nancy

We were saddened to read of Hugh's death in the Alumni Magazine. We remember happy times, now 60 years ago, when we were all together at Brown.

Dear Fran and Rogovin family, I was so sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. As a young kid on Fairfax I was so intimidated by Hugh and as a young adult became so fond of him. He was very helpful to me as a young attorney. I admired him greatly. My sincerest condolences to you all. With sympathy, Rina Mayman Harrison
