I just today heard the news of Fred's passing. For many years I worked for Fred at the "Same Old Place". I can honestly say the foundation for my success began when I began working for Fred. I always looked up to him and wanted to be as successful as he was. He taught me to work hard, have passion for what you do and share your success with those close to you.

I have never forgotten Fred and never will...My deepest sympathies to the Ciamp Family.

So saddened to hear about Fred. My heart goes out to Eric and family. I have been a customer since I was a kid. Fred even let me work there for a bit. After moving to Georgia 11 years ago, we made a yearly visit (as do so very many other former JP natives). Fred always came and sat with us and asked about my career and how things were in the south. He was always kind to me and I will remember him fondly.

Gina and Family,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

July 27, 2012

Susan, Regina, Eric & Leigh Anne,
I just heard this afternoon about Fred!
Had I known sooner I would have attended his services. Freddie was a great guy! You all know that...as you move on past your grief, remember his face. I know I will. Fred and my father were inseparable friends. How that came about, I really don't know. But when I got out of the Marines, Fred was one of the first guys I met when I returned home. He offered me a job and I didn't take him up on it, but, I appreciated the offer. Freddie and Eddie...you know what I mean! When my father passed Fred was there for us and we greatly appreciated it! Those guys had a lot of love and respect for each other. Many years had passed since I saw Fred. Eight and a half years ago my daughter was born. She came 7 weeks early and it's all good, but she had a flat head problem. We took her to Children's Hospital to fit her for a helmet to correct the problem and on the way home I said to my wife, "Let's go see Freddie!" "Freddie who?", she says. I explained on the way. Well, you know how parking is down in JP. I pulled in the back of the shop and there's Fred taking a break. I hadn't seen him in years...I got out of my truck and reintroduced myself. He said to me, "I knew who you were the minute you pulled in!!" Fred brought us in to "Same Old Place" and fed us sat with us and caught up on our lives. Let me just say this, it was the closest I could get to introducing my infant daughter to her grandfather. We wish you peace of mind in these coming days! Remember the face of your father and husband in all you do!

Fred was a wonderful man. I only met him a couple of times, but was the recipient of one of his "random acts of kindness." We met him in an eye doctor's office and he generously paid for an eye exam without being asked. He was a very kind man. I am remembering him in my prayers, may he have eternal rest and peace with our Lord in heaven!
