Obituary Condolences

McNAMARA, Paul J. 97, of Marshfield, MA, (40 year resident of Humarock), devoted and loving husband of Doris (Roth) McNamara, passed away on September 7, 2012, born in Boston, son of Thomas McNamara and Sarah (O'Connell) McNamara. Paul was a 70-year member of the United Transportation Union, retiring as International Vice-President in 1980. He was a 1960 graduate of the Harvard University Trade Union Program. He received the 1975 Cardinal Cushing Award for excellence in Labor Management Relations. He was a member of the Catholic Labor Guild, Knights of Columbus and parishioner of St. Christine's parish in Marshfield, MA. His childhood parish of Mission Church in Roxbury always held a special place in his life. Paul is survived by his wife Doris of 72-years. He was the beloved father of 2 daughters, Paula Lester and her husband Thomas of Marshfield, MA and Susan Mooney and her husband Thomas of Gloucester, MA; cherished grandfather of 7 grandchildren, Carolyn Magowan and her husband Mark, Christine Logan and her husband James, Thomas Lester and his wife Kristen, Donna Rudolph and her husband Mark, Thomas Mooney, Jr. and his wife Carla, Susanne Hunt and her husband Daniel, and Paula Morgan and her husband Tadhg; proud great-grandfather of 19: Lauren, Paul (McNamara), Jack and Kate Rudolph; Joey, Meagan, Jay, Kaelin and Christa Logan; Sophia Lester; Laura and Madelyn Magowan; Sarah, Tommy and Daniel Mooney; Ryan and Sean Hunt; and Alexandra and Ian Morgan. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and predeceased by 7 siblings. Paul was an avid Boston sports fan, golfer and active member of his union. He will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and his deep faith in God and Church. Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139, MARSHFIELD on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 2 to 6 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main St. Rte 3A. Interment in Couch Cemetery.
