79, of Framingham, Massachusetts died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, peacefully surrounded by his family. Born February 11, 1933 in Elizabeth, NJ, he grew up in Linden, attended Saint Mary of the Assumption High School in Elizabeth, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Nick then served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a Radio Operator. After his time in the service, Nick was professionally employed as a civil engineer, first at Ebasco Services, Inc. of New York City, where he met his loving and dedicated wife of 52 years, Ida (Puggioni); and later, for many years for Chas. T. Main of Boston, where he took great pride and skill in overseeing significant hydroelectric projects in the United States and Africa. He was an avid and dedicated fan of the Fighting Irish Football team, his children, grandchildren and loved working outdoors, building sheds and stone walls, and working in his shop. He is survived by his wife, Ida; their four children Nicholas and his wife Jane of North Andover; Anthony, of Keene, NH; Ida, of Framingham; and Paula (Edwards) and her husband Rick, of Natick; his grandchildren Lydia and Nicholas Triano of North Andover, and Colin, Paige and Alexander Edwards of Natick; his five brothers, John, Edward, Eugene, Thomas and Richard and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday, November 17, at 9 AM from the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (Corner of Union Ave.) FRAMINGHAM, followed by his funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. George Church, 75 School St., Framingham. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
