Obituary Condolences

McINTYRE, Rosalind Norma Lynn A thoroughly and selflessly devoted wife, mother and educator, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 23rd, at the age of 84, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Selma, AL, one of the crucibles of the modern U.S. Civil Rights Movement, and later grew up in Greensboro, NC. Mrs. McIntyre always excelled and was the valedictorian of her high school class. She earned her BA at Bennett College in North Carolina, graduating at the top of her class, and her MA at Pennsylvania State University. She went on to teach apparel/fashion design and textiles science at Carver Vocational Technical High School in Baltimore, Maryland, where she also served as Department Head. She retired in 1988 after 30 years of consummate dedication to her students. She was widowed in 2006 after 53 years of marriage to Dr. Sandye J. McIntyre II. She is survived by her daughter, Monique; son, Sandye III; son-in-law, Gregory; grandson, Ian; and granddaughter, Camille. All who had the pleasure of knowing her said that she was one of the most beautiful people they had ever met and that she had the purest of souls. Her life was characterized by extraordinary kindness, compassion, generosity, patience, understanding, selflessness and boundless love. Her life and legacy will live on in the lives of those she so deeply touched and impacted. She was greatly loved and will be terribly missed.
