Obituary Condolences

CURTIN, Thomas J. 88, of Cotuit, died March 20, 2013 after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Ann W. (Parish) Curtin to whom he was married 32 years. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Catherine (Kirby) Curtin. In 1943 he graduated from Boston College High School, attended St. John's Seminary and was ordained at the Cathedral of The Holy Cross in Boston in 1950. For twenty years he served as a priest at Sacred Heart Parish in Middleboro, Most Precious Blood Parish in Hyde Park, St. Michael's Parish in Lowell, and Immaculate Conception Church in Marlboro. He received dispensation from Pope John Paul II and married Ann. Thomas worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a contract manager for the Department of Youth Services, retiring in 1992. Reading, traveling, politics and sports were some of his favorite pastimes, but the time he spent with his children and grandchildren is what he cherished most. He is survived by his children, Brenda A. Curtin of Pascoag, RI, Susan M. Riggen of East Montpelier, VT, Craig T. Curtin of Marstons Mills, James P. Curtin of Providence, RI, and John P. Curtin of East Falmouth; and his seven grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Rev. Eugene P. Curtin. Visiting hours will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2013 in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd. (Route 28) MARSTONS MILLS. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23rd at St. Jude's Chapel at Christ the King Parish, Jobs Fishing Rd., Mashpee, followed by burial at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.
