DeSimone, Robert A.
Of Newton (formerly of Somerville and Lexington) passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on May 28. Survived by his wife Janet, daughter Sara DeSimone Scott and husband Gary Scott of Newton and daughter Maria Carlson and husband Wayne Carlson of Stoughton, his grandchilden whom he loved so much Nicholas and Adrian Scott and Andy and Breena Carlson. Devoted brother of Frances Facenda, Lexington, Rose Mary DeSimone, Brookline, Alice Stringos and husband Homer Stringos, Lexington, and Patricia Thiboutot and husband Armand Thiboutot of Boston. Preceded in death by brothers Frank, John, Salvatore and Louis. Son of the late Fortunatina (Catanzano) and Pasquale DeSimone. Loving "Uncle Bob" to many nieces and nephews. Bob had a passion for those who needed a helping hand in life and was an advocate for many in both his personal and professional life. He loved to sing and was a charter board member and former president of the Boston Minstrel Company and a longtime member of his church choir. He was very intelligently outspoken on many social issues and his regular email epistles were always enlightening. Visiting hours Sunday 3:30-7:30 pm, Magni Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St, Rt.16, Newton. Gathering at the Funeral Home on Monday at 8:45am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church,1321 Centre Street, Newton Centre.
