Obituary Condolences

ACCOLLA, Donald D. Of South Yarmouth & Winthrop, formerly of Everett, passed away peacefully on Sept. 13th. Funeral and visitation on Wed., Sept 18 from 9am to 10:30am at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, EAST BOSTON. Funeral Mass to be held at 11am, St Joseph- St. Lazarus church in East Boston. Don is survived by his beloved wife Ruth (Carino) his faithful 4 legged companion Alex, brother Frank Accolla, sister-in-law Barbara Accolla, nephews Peter, Kevin and Donald Accolla. Step Dad to Todd Amodeo and his wife Laurie. Also step Dad to Don Campbell his wife Becca. Devoted Grandfather to Gus, Toby, Riley and Caroline Campbell. Don was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and retired from The Boston Globe after a long and distinguished career, but above all he was firmly devoted to his loving wife Ruth Accolla who was steadfastly by his side at his time of passing. Those who knew him understood that his grandchildren meant the world to him and gave him a renewed vigor for life each and every time he saw them. Nothing meant more to him than seeing their smiling faces and experiencing the pure joy and genuine excitement that came along with being their grandfather. If the happiness of being a grandparent could be measured in wealth, Don was the richest person in the world. He will be missed by all fortunate enough to have made his acquaintance, and even more by those fortunate enough to experience the love and kindness he gave from his heart. Rest in peace Don, there is a special place waiting for you in heaven. Donations can be made in Don's name to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601 for more info www.ruggieromh.com Ruggiero Family Memorial Home East Boston 617 569 0990
