JOHN P. HUNT Jr. Obituary
HUNT, John P. Jr. Age 93, husband for 52 years of Bette (Haskell) Hunt of Marblehead, died at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Center, Salem on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, following a long illness. Born in Boston, the son of the late John and Isabel (Laidlaw) Hunt, he was raised in Newton Center. Jacks interest in photography began when he went to work at the Bachrach Film Processing Plant in Watertown. He soon became a skilled photographer working in their studios until World War II, when he served in the Army Signal Corps. Upon his discharge, he worked for many years as a salesman for his fathers company, Scott Linotyping in Boston. He retired from John Hancock as a supervisor of corporate graphic services. Jack was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Tedesco Country Club. He never lost his interest in photography and after his retirement he became an excellent cook. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Valerie Eadie, her husband John, and their children, Kristen, David and Melissa. He was predeceased by a grandson, Brad Eadie. In addition he leaves his grandson, Scott Hunt, and two great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00AM in Waterside Cemetery, 294 West Shore Drive, Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. At the familys request, there are no visiting hours.
