FIELD, Cecelia (McGovern) Of Osterville, MA, formerly of Chestnut Hill, MA died on Monday, December 9, 2013 at age 99. Beloved wife of the late Harold J. Field. Cherished aunt of Anne Marie and her husband Dr. Stephen Healey of Lincoln and Osterville, MA, the late James Walsh and his wife, Annellen, of Cohasset, MA and Vero Beach FL, Mary Louise Lewis and her late husband, Walter of Sandwich, MA, General Joseph Hoar and his wife, Charlene of Del Mar CA, Anne Leahy and her husband Mark of Cheshire, CT and Osterville, MA, Jay McGovern and his wife Susan of Newburyport, MA. Cecelia is lovingly survived by several adoring grand nieces and nephews. Cecelia was a pioneer in the field of Social Work. A 1936 graduate of Regis College, Cecelia received a Masters Degree from Boston College and a PhD from Yale. She wrote a textbook called "Services to Children in Institutions". She worked in Washington D.C. and Boston. A Funeral Mass will be said on Thursday, Dec. 12th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church at 230 South Main St., Centerville, MA.
