WINNIFRED CONROY Obituary

CONROY, Winnifred "Winnie" Died March 21, 2014 surrounded by her devoted family. She was the loving daughter of the late John and Mary MacDonald of Hyde Park. Born in Boston on July 18, 1942, raised and educated in Hyde Park, Winnie graduated from UMASS Amherst and taught at Madison Park High School. She was the cofounder and proprietor of My 3 Sons Hardware. Winnie is survived by her 3 sons Melvin and wife Jennifer, John and wife Kerri, and Jason, all of Halifax. Winnie was the doting and generous grandmother of Amber, Jordan, and Cassidy Conroy. The gracious older sister of Mary and husband Frank Caferelli of Florida, Ivan and wife Ann MacDonald of Hyde Park, Karen and husband Steve Boeri of Milton, Edward and wife Mary MacDonald of Canton, and Paul Macdonald of Medfield. Sister-in-law to Jerry and Cindy Conroy of Florida and the late Martin and Mildred Conroy of Brighton, countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends whose names she all knew and whose connection she so cherished. Winnie was a gifted cook, avid reader, a fountain of factual information, enjoyed the beach, and was happiest at family gatherings and times when there was a chance to be part of the laughter. She will be remembered as "Winnie", "Mom" and Grammie" a truly gentle, completely honest, and genuinely selfless human being. Hi Everyone, I'm so sorry that won't be able to join you for the celebration of Auntie Winnie's life. I'd have many stories to add, like the time when she took me to driver's test or when she visited me in Germany. She played an important role in my upbringing, and I won't forget that.

Sincerest Condolences to the Conroy Family. I have many fond (and amusing) memories of Winnie at the beach and at my mom's playing cards with those wild and crazy gals from the neighborhood. I can picture her and can hear her laugh. I am sorry I can not attend the service.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. You can only have one Mother, Patient kind and true; No other friend in all the world, will be the same to you. When other friends forsake you, to mother you return, For all her loving kindness, she asks nothing in return.

I LOVE YOU MOM, Thank you for everything I am; I will achingly miss you as my advisor and the foundation you were to this family.
