Vitagliano, Edward G. N.C.A.R.B. certified Of Brookline, passed away on March 27, 2014, after a prolonged illness. He was 67 years old. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the beloved son of Ruth (Holland) and Guy Vitagliano. At an early age, he enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He served as a YN2 for over six years. He was honorably discharged in 1971 and earned the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He went on to enroll in the University of Massachusetts where he earned his B.S. and then continued with his education, earning his Bachelor's from the Boston Architectural College. He was a licensed architect in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island and was the owner of the Edward Vitagliano and Associates Architectural Firm in Brookline where he specialized in Capital Planning and Assessment, Architecture Consulting and Accessibility Consulting. He was an architectural supporter of the Arcasanti Project in Arizona. He was also an avid Red Sox Fan, an ocean scuba diver and a generous donor of public radio WBUR, WGBH, TED, the MFA and nonprofit renewable energy projects worldwide. He was the beloved husband of Deborah of Brookline and the loving father of Alexandra Dahlbeck, Elizabeth Fletcher, Catherine Vitagliano and step father of Kierie Baudin. He was the dear brother of Frances Polito and Jamie Vitagliano. He was the cherished grandfather of Aria James, Liliana Dahlbeck and Camille Rose Baudin. He was the former husband of Roberta Vitagliano. Memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
