THEODORE ZAGAESKI Obituary
Zagaeski, Theodore Of Lexington MA, April 6, 2014. Age 94. Born Tadeusz Franciszek Zagajewski, Quincy MA. Son of Wladyslaw Zagajewski (Walter Zagaeski) and Klementyna Olszewska of Okopy, Ukraine and Allston MA. Brother of the late Benjamin Zagaeski of Bridgewater MA and Louise (Polselli) Zagaeski of Allston MA. Husband to the late Victoria Mattera of Swampscott MA. Survived by his children Paul Zagaeski of Newton MA, Mark Zagaeski of Lexington MA, Peter Zagaeski of Rock Valley IA and Sterling MA, and Susan (Carroll) Zagaeski of Salem MA, and by his ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ted graduated from Brighton High School in 1937. Ted enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1942, and served with distinction in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, and Germany. He attended Boston College, graduating in 1950. Ted worked as an engineer for the Army Materials and Mechanics Research Center (later Materials Technology Lab) at the Watertown Arsenal. Ted was a dedicated woodworker and carpenter, and always had a project keeping him busy. Ted enjoyed sailing, skiing, and golf, and bowled in the Materials Technology Lab league until he was 93. Ted was adored by his aunt, uncle, and cousins, the Kenjeski family of Newton MA, and remained close to them all his life. A memorial gathering to celebrate Ted's life will be held at a future date. Burial at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy MA will be private. The family requests donations in Ted's memory to Homes for Our Troops, Taunton MA, www.hfotusa.org.
