RONALD HURSTON Obituary

HURSTON, Ronald Orne Of Wayland, formerly of Framingham entered into rest April 18th, 2014 at the age of 75. The beloved companion of Inge-Lise Graf. Devoted father of Samuel Hurston of Wayland. Loving brother of Pat Lin of New York, NY. Former spouse of Anne Hurston of Wayland. Dr. Hurston practiced medicine in Marlboro for 30 years and was affiliated with Mass General and Marlboro Hospitals. A dedicated physician and psychiatrist, he felt that he learned from his patients and colleagues as much as he helped them. Dr. Hurston had a deep love of the arts and after retirement he studied music, jazz piano and performed at the Acton Jazz Café and the Wellesley Library. In 2010, he produced for the Wayland Public Library a concert series entitled A Celebration of the Arts, featuring jazz, classical and Afro-Cuban music. Because he felt it important Dr. Hurston was a philanthropic contributor to many institutions promoting medical, educational and artistic goals. Dr. Hurston also appreciated nature and natural beauty, and had a particular deep affection for the state of Maine. Services at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St., BROOKLINE, MA, on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Dear Sam,

I am so very sorry for the loss of your father. You had a close and meaningful relationship beyond father and son. It was evident that you were each other's close friend and confident. He was a unique person who will be missed by all who knew him. Always know that I am here for you.

My love,
Ellen

We were very saddened to hear of Ron's passing. It was always a pleasure serving him at Abbondanza's, and we were honored to have him travel to our restaurant because he enjoyed the food so much. We will all miss him. The Staff at Abbondanza's Restaurant.
