Hancock, Jr., William Frank William "Bill" Frank Hancock Jr., 72, passed away on November 7th, 2014 at his home in Mills River, North Carolina. Born in Richmond, Virginia on January 4th, 1942, Bill lived in Sherborn for over twenty-five years where he was an active member of his church and community. Recently, Bill and his high school sweetheart reconnected, married, and traveled the world when not enjoying the mountains in their North Carolina dream home. Bill was an avid photographer; loved fine cuisine, a snazzy dresser, and a true Southern gentleman. Bill was an active father and adored being a grandfather to his seven grandchildren. Being a busy executive never stopped Bill's involvement in his kids' lives; he was a Scout leader of two Eagle Scout sons and when Bill's children were young he spent weekends traveling to New Hampshire for their skiing adventures. Bill had a special gift and made immediate friends easily. He was a strong, stoic and stern man who was a teddy bear at heart. Bill was loved and will be very missed by his many friends and family. Bill was a life-long learner and relished being both a student and professor. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting at the University of Iowa, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School of Business. His professional degrees also included Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Certificate in Data Processing (CDP). Most recently, Bill was a Global Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Hult International School of Business. Previously, Bill served as Acting Dean of Hult Boston and was elected Hult "Professor of the Year" in 2012. Prior to joining Hult, Bill spent over twenty years as a management consultant with IBM Global Systems, Ernst & Young, and Keane and he was a divisional marketing manager at Digital Equipment Corporation. Bill was recognized in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, and Who's Who in Finance & Industry. He was a frequent speaker on leadership, e-Commerce, business strategy, entrepreneurship, and the use of computer technology in business. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Frank and Gladys Hancock, and is survived by his wife, Joy Hancock; his three children, Peter, Jeff and Jennifer Hancock; his daughters-in-law, Laleh and Lindsey Hancock; and his grandchildren, Moraya and Breanna Boggan, Lukas and Kyah Quitno, and Jazmin, Jackson, and Julia Grace Hancock. A service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 at Pilgrim Church, located at 25 S Main St, Sherborn, MA 01770. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Pilgrim Church http://www.pilgrimsherborn.org (where Bill was the Treasurer for 25 years) or Dana Farber Cancer Institute. http://www.dana-farber.org/
