I am saddened by the loss of Cathy Norris Norton, my dear friend through all our years at Sacred Hearts Academy and Regis College. I regret not seeing her recently as we lived together on Cape Cod for many years. My deepest condolences to her children. I know, for sure, you had a wonderful mother. I extend my sympathy also to her sister, Joan, whom I knew so many years ago. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you Cathy. The years went by so fast. Gene Callaghan Orloff

I am very sorry for your loss. Your mother was always so wonderful to our family over the years. I am so sorry that Alex, Owen, and I are out of the country through Sunday the 28th and will be unable to attend to pay our respects. Please accept our apologies and our deepest condolences on your loss.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Cathy through the National Library of Medicine committee where we both served and walking into the Board room to see her there just lit up the whole place. She was a fierce defender of good science and took pleasure in all the people she helped train and worked with at the Laboratory. She was a great and funny colleague to work with and we laughed more than one would ever imagine one would in a room full of journals. But she loved her life, her retirement and her family and talked about them all. The world of knowledge is diminished by her loss and the history of libraries as well. My best to her family and thank you for sharing her with others.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the Norton family for your loss. I remember Cathy with the same smile from her days at the FYC. Cathy was one of the few stalwarts that were there for my mother-in-law Helen Hodosh in Helen's final days. Cathy also gave me my job recommendation at the SSA. Cathy will not be forgotten.
