A good friend who I was working with when I left General Motors in 2001 has passed away this week after a long battle with throat cancer. A nicer guy you wouldn't find anywhere. Leo, and his then dying wife Janice, were the ones who actually took us up on our "sponsor the Diary" campaign when we hit the road 14 years ago. I'm glad we have been able to make Boston a destination twice since then, Long trips, made worthwhile by Leo's inspiring attitude and spirituous personality. An involved family man and avid Patriots fan, he was always more interested in your affairs than bemoaning his own fate. Leo missed out on a comfortable retirement, along with many others, and we keep these people in mind as we enjoy the opportunities presented to us. I'm sure his wonderful family will carry this man's inspiring legacy on. As I ended each phone call I will say one last time, "take care my friend".

Staruski Family, Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal. My sympathies to the friends and family of Uncle Leo (as I knew him). He was an angel on this earth who never met a stranger.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my dear friend, Leo. I worked with him in Detroit, and he spoke so fondly of his family and was always so quick to share the latest pictures of his beloved grandchildren. He was one of the nicest men I ever had the pleasure to work with. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Dear Jen and Chris, You all know how we loved Leo. A great husband, father and proud grandfather. For us, we lost a good friend and treasure the good times we always had with the Staruski's. Now, we believe, he is with his beloved Jan in the arms of his loving Savior. I, Claire, will miss my chats and e-mails with my "guy friend". Love, Claire and Mike
