RICHARD F. HERBERT

HERBERT, Richard F. Of Quincy, died March 29, 2015 at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham. He was surrounded with love. Richard was 68 years old. Loving husband of Patricia (Cheverie) Herbert of Quincy. Richard was the son of the late Julius and Kathleen Herbert and the brother of the late Theodore Herbert. Richard attended Assumption College and graduated from Boston University. He worked for many years at Boston University as well as at State Street Bank from which he retired. Richard loved to travel and he and his wife had been to Bermuda, Italy, and Ireland a number of times. He had also traveled extensively in the US and Canada. The couple visited Prince Edward Island each summer for 25 years. Richard was an avid Red Sox fan. In his retirement, Richard became a charter member of the Friends of Wollaston Beach as well as the Hospital Hill Neighborhood Association. He was also a member of the City of Quincy's Beaches and Coastal Commission. His proudest affiliation in retirement was, however, as a mentor for the Quincy High School Tennis Team. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 3 - 7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
