A few thoughts on the anniversary of his passing. Nick is someone who will never be forgotten. He made an impression wherever he went. He was easy going, always friendly and funny. My interaction with him always made my day. I don't think anyone who knew him can ever forget him. He is missed. Most sincerely, Marie

I am so shocked to hear about this. I cannot believe it. I had taken a break to be off with my now 3 year old and just got back into work again, to come to realize that he is no longer with us in this world.
I will tell you he was never boring! Always fun! He would make my day with the jokes he would send to me everyday! We would talk about them back and forth to each other. I never knew him personally, but in the research field working with him through our small research company he was always great! He could turn my bad day around! I will miss him so; as it saddened my heart to just learn about this yesterday.
Best Wishes to his family,

I was truly shocked to learn today (13 months after he left us) that Nick is gone. I echo what everyone else said.....he was a unique and wonderful person. We worked together back in the 70's and he's still so vivid in my mind.....can't believe I'll never see him again.
Although I don't know his family, I'm 100% sure he cherished you deeply and enthusiastically. Just as I'm sure he is so missed by you.My thoughts are with you.
Farewell, Nick - you brought your wild sense of fun to a boring insurance company (American Mutual) and made it a fabuloua place to work!!

Nick was an amazingly funny, talented, athletic guy that brought a smile to everyone and every situation. Charismatic and compassionate. A loss to all who knew and loved him and a missed opportunity for those who didn't. We knew Nick as a Needham Rocket and Bates Bobcat. Our thoughts and prayers to Melissa, Nicole and Tommy and to Amy, Diana and John.

I am so, so sorry to hear of Nick's passing. We spent many good times on the football and baseball fields at Bates and also off the field. He was a great guy and I will remember him always...

I was immensely saddened to learn of Nick's passing. I consider myself lucky to have been his friend in first and second grade and then to have reconnected a decade later at Bates. Most of my Nick memories are so vivid they could have happened yesterday. Trips to Fenway with our Dads, marveling at his athletic skill, laughing at his jokes and stories, having him teach me the fine points of throwing a knuckleball or just hanging out at Pierce house as seniors he was simply a fun guy to be around. I offer my sincere condolences to Melissa, Nicole and Tommy and to Amy, Diana and John. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I hope your memories of Nick will help sustain you as they have me.

It was a pleasure knowing Nick the past ten years! He had a heart of GOLD! The word "NO" wasn't in his vocabulary. Anytime you asked him for help or guidance, he would never refuse! He will be sorely missed! Mike and Ginger Rothman

Condolences to the Dell'erario family. RIP Nick. Thanks for the blood blister on the palm of my left hand that I got stopping a wicked line drive off of your bat in the cage in the high school gym. Nobody could hit em' like you, (The Bambino). Still got it too.

Nick loved his children very much. If you asked him about his kids, he would light up and show you a picture of Tommy or tell you a story about Nicole. I truly believe it was this love that gave him fortitude to deal with his illnesss. His sense of humor would cause laughter throughout the office at work. I will miss you my friend.

One of the finest men I've ever known. Honest, direct, kind and a sense of humor that couldn't be beat. Ten years working together at Arizona Research was WAY too short but thanks for some pretty hilarious memories.

I worked with Nick for many years at Clincial Studies in Providence, RI. There are just no words. He was the ultimate man of humor and dry wit, but always a friend. He will be sadly missed by anyone who knew him well. His family will remain in my thoughts. Sincerely, Marie McFarland
