DIGILIO, Frank Anthony 84, of Sandwich, MA, passed away peacefully Friday, December 11, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Charlotte A. (Hawkins) Digilio. Born in Astoria, New York, he was the son of the late Louis and Martha (Deluca) Digilio and the brother to the late Vincent Digilio, Angelina (Digilio) Costa and Daniel Digilio. A veteran of the United States Army he served during the Korean War stationed in West Germany. He started his career working at various tech firms in the Northeast and eventually ended up at Digital Equipment Corporation in 1977 where he held increasingly important positions of responsibility, which culminated in his position at DEC as the Engineering Manager of the Electro Mechanical Design Engineering Group. During his career he was also awarded several patents for dot-matrix printer devices. He retired from DEC in 1992. December 29, 2015

I worked with Frank on the printer products in Maynard and in Phoenix. I was the senior mechanical technician in the engineering group that worked closely with Frank . As well as my boss, we became friends and i thought he was the key person who was responsible for the printers success.

Our sincere condolences to Charlotte, Louis and family, Caroline and family, and Tom and family. Frank was a great guy. I remember how Andi and I spent an afternoon watching him fly two of the planes that he had built. We would spend hours talking in his shop and he was always so happy to show his planes and clocks. We will miss him; a truly sincere man who spoke as it is.
