CLIFTON H. EATON

1928 - 2015

EATON, Clifton H. Of West Falmouth died peacefully on December 22, 2015 from complications of dementia. He was born on January 18, 1928 in Haverhill, MA to the late Clifton and Ruth Eaton and raised in Newburyport MA. Clif "Wink" Eaton graduated from Newburyport High School Class of 1945, having been a sports reporter for the News, lettered in baseball on the 1945 championship team, and served as treasurer for the senior class. After a brief tour of service with the U.S. Coast Guard, Clif attended Yale University and graduated with the class of 1951. He was dedicated to a long career with Gillette in Boston after which he joined Cooper Canada in Toronto for a few years before focusing on being an independent consultant. Clif is survived by his four daughters and their husbands, Janet, Stuart, Pamela, Dennis, Beth, Robert, Martha and Vincent. Clif enjoyed his eight grandchildren and took an active interest in their activities. Clif pursued many interests during his retirement years, spent in West Falmouth. He attended Cape Cod Baseball League and Yale football games, he listened to The Pops and Jazz on Monday nights, and he loved dining out at local favorites. Meals at The Quarterdeck and Chart Room were frequent, as Clif loved conversing with the staff. Nothing was complete without homemade ice cream or pie. Funeral Services are private.
