RICHARD P. FLYNN

1945 - 2016

FLYNN, Richard P. 71 of Marina Bay Quincy, passed away after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy (Papaz) Flynn, daughter Erika (Flynn) Apelis, son in law, Markis, and cherished grandson Karlis of University Heights, Ohio. Mr. Flynn was born in West Roxbury. He served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. Upon his return from Vietnam, Mr. Flynn attended Boston State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. He later attended Indiana University where he completed a Master's Degree in Creative writing. He was a retired businessman. Throughout his illness, Richard utilized his writing skills and authored several books including "Irish Men Don't Cry", highlighting his medical and emotional journey with Lou Gehrig's disease. Richard loved life and lived it to the fullest, right up until the end. He will be missed by all who loved him, especially his puppies Lexie and Paris. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 5-8PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
