RICHARD BEAVEN Obituary
Born on March 18, 1936 in New York City, NY, son of H. Edgar and Katharine (Decker) Beaven. Dick graduated from Tufts University Class '58. He served in the United States Army and afterwards worked as an electrical engineer for Digital Equipment Co. until he retired in 2001. His work developing simulation software was recognized with a patent.
Dick is survived by his wife Marilyn (Mohnkern) Beaven, daughters Gwenyth Beaven Cambridge, MA and Meredith B. Rosenthal also of Cambridge, grandchildren Jonathan and Daniel Fairbank, Jordan and Phoebe Rosenthal, and great grandson Parker Fairbank.
Burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sudbury will be private. A memorial service will be held January 14th at the Memorial Congregational Church of Sudbury.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Memorial Congregational Church, Sudbury, MA for use in the music program and City Mission Society, 14 Beacon Street, Suite 203, Boston, MA 02108.

Dick and I where friends in high school and college. On A February 22 nd holiday we drove his dad's car to Center Ossipee, NH to check on my family's cottage there was five feet of snow. the thermometer inside the cottage did not register the twenty below temperature. We made tomato soup with snow from outside.

I worked at DEC using DECsim during that time and remember having great conversations with Dick.
