LOUISE TARANTO Obituary

TARANTO, Louise A. Passed away on Wednesday March 29, 2017. Daughter of the late Dominick and Jennie (Berardi) DePerrio, Louise was born on April 2, 1922 in Malden, MA. She married and lived many years in Somerville with her husband, the late James A. Taranto.

Louise enjoyed the simple things in life, travelling into Boston where she would attend Mass at St. Anthony's Shrine, a blueberry muffin at Jordan Marsh, and then bargain shopping at Filene's Basement. She continued her weekly routines well into her late 80's, travelling by train, bus or simply just walking. She never had a desire to learn to drive. She took pleasure watching her grandchildren grow over the years, and had an affinity for animals, especially her dog, Ninja, a Chinese Shar Pei.

Louise was a devoted mother to, and survived by, her son Thomas J. Taranto, Esq. and his wife Beth M. Taranto of Marblehead, MA. She is also survived by; her grandson Michael Taranto and his wife Maria of Wakefield, MA, her granddaughter Jennifer Taranto of Washington, D.C., her grandson Matthew Taranto of Marblehead, MA, her great grandson Michael Taranto Jr., her great granddaughter Luciana Taranto and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband James on their wedding anniversary, April 24, 1994.

Louise was a quiet Lady, I brought Holy Communion to the Devereux N. Home and Louise would always take Communion. When I read Her obituary, Her story, it was the same story My Grandmother had where every Saturday,The day included Arch Street Church, and shopping downtown at Filenes basement. Louise seemed like a very strong Lady. I remember Her with admiration.

You will always be in my thoughts and prayers Louise. I loved you like a mother and missed you everyday not being able to see you.

To Thomas and Family, I 'm a Eucharistic Minister from Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead. I go to the Devereux N Home every other month to bring Communion. I'll miss Louise. She always wanted Communion.I enjoyed reading your Mothers obituary, that She kept up Her routine of Arch St, Jordan Marsh's blueberry muffin and Filene's basement. I think a lot of people had that routine. My Grandmother did, Every Sat. was Filene's B. and I think Arch St. Church too. Take Care,Gail Kanarski
