Vivian Franciszka Chaput

Vivian Chaput Obituary

Died Saturday night from injuries sustained in an automobile accident while vacationing in Hollywood, FL. A thirty-year resident of Carlisle, MA, she served for over seventeen years on the Carlisle Planning Board and currently was serving her eighth year on the Carlisle Board of Selectmen. Mrs. Chaput was instrumental in the securing of local and federal funding for the purchase of over one hundred acres of open space in Carlisle, known as O'Rourke Land. She also was a member of the non-profit group that constructed the only Senior Housing Development in Carlisle Center. Mrs. Chaput received her Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Rhode Island and studied Planning and Landscape Design at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her MBA from Babson College. After working for the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) in Washington, D.C., she spent several years as a City Planner with the Manchester, NH Redevelopment Authority. Last year, she completed a 26 unit senior-restricted condominium development in Billerica, MA, which won a coveted award for design from the National Association of Home Builders. Mrs. Chaput is survived by her husband, Dr. Ronald Chaput, a dentist in Chelmsford, MA, a daughter, Noelle and her husband Keith Davighi of Princeton, NJ, and her brother Jan Kisiel of Port St. Lucie, FL. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Irene Roman Catholic Church, 181 East St., Carlisle, MA 01741 at 10 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2004 followed by Burial at Green Cemetery in Carlisle. Calling hours will be omitted. The family requests that expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Carlisle Conservation Foundation/Carlisle Land Trust, Box 300, Carlisle, Massachusetts 01741.
