Mother of Claire Parker of AZ, Joan Hogan of Dorchester, Mary Ann Hogan of Quincy and the late Theresa R. Hogan. Grandmother of Elizabeth Parker, Mary Parker and David Varela. Sister of the late John Brewster and Claire Slifer. Theresa is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Holmes, Walter J. - South Boston  
HOLMES Walter J. of Quincy, born and raised in South Boston passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 94. Beloved husband of 75 years to June (Westhaver) Holmes. Devoted father of Joyce Doucette, her husband Doug of Quincy, Ronald Holmes, his wife Eileen of South Boston, Scott Holmes of Quincy, Brian Holmes of Quincy, Patricia Castaneda, her late husband Bob of Quincy, and the late Walter Larry Holmes. Loving son of the late Joseph and Louise (Deardon) Holmes. Dear brother of the late Joseph Holmes Jr., Robert Holmes, Charles Holmes, Ruth Smooth, Evelyn Holmes, and Helen Curtis. Cherished Grandfather of twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Uncle to his special niece "My Rainy". Walter worked for B. R. Gale Co. in Allston for 44 years as a sheet metal worker. He was a Veteran of the second World War as a Marksman Rifleman in the Army Air Corp. Walter was an avid swimmer at the City Point beach in South Boston and he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like going for walks with his wife for a hot dog at Castle Island, and vacationing at Swift Beach in Wareham where he loved to dig for quahogs. Walter loved his family unconditionally and will be sorely missed by many. Visiting hours in The O'Brien Funeral, 146 Dorchester Street. SOUTH BOSTON on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. 3:00 P.M. Hinton, Gloria M. - Dedham  
HINTON Gloria M. (Giampapa), 87, of Dedham, MA and formerly West Roxbury, MA; died Saturday, February 6, 2016. The youngest of ten children, she was born in Boston, MA to the late Sebastian and Elizabeth H. (Casali) Giampapa. Widow of the late W.C. (George) Hinton and mother of the late Robert C. Survived by her children, William C. and his wife Peggie of West Roxbury; Elizabeth and her husband Michael Varano of Dedham; Barbara A. and her husband the late James Golden of Dedham. Beloved “Gram” to 13 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Sebastian Giampapa of Coventry, RI; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Gloria’s greatest joy in life was her family. Gloria’s greatest gift to all of her family was her unconditional love. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St Susanna’s Church; 262 Needham St, Dedham. Interment will be private.
