Larry E. Martinez

MARTINEZ Larry E. , 56, of Easton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at home surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Andrea (Chassey) Martinez for 37 years. Born in Boston, a son of the late Roger and Maggie (Sosa) Martinez, he was raised in Boston until the age of 13, then moved to Puerto Rico where he completed his schooling. He moved back to Boston and entered the Boston Police Academy. Upon completing his training he continued his education at Anna Maria College in Paxton where he earned a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. Larry was a Boston Police Officer for 35 years. During his many years of tenure he served as an undercover officer, was a member of the Dive Team, the Entry Team and many other duties where he performed admirably. Larry also served as a driving instructor and his last position was a firearms instructor where he trained recruits. His passion was the training and developing of young police officers in the finer points of marksmanship. His hobbies included diving, golf, attending antique car shows and vacationing on ocean cruises. In addition to his wife Andrea, he is survived by two daughters, Jessica Rose Martinez and Lauren Elyse Martinez both of Easton; his siblings, Iris Ginsberg of Brockton, Mimmi Cohan of Brockton, Roger Martinez of Lake Wales, FL., and Anthony Martinez of Nashua, NH.; nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) EASTON.
