FERNANDES Gerald L., age 73, died Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Boston Medical Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Rhode Island, he was raised in Wareham, MA, longtime resident of Boston, MA. Retired Laborer of M. Suzzi and Sons. Son of the late Andrew Gomes and the late Annie Fernandes. Loving father of Bobby Nunes of Boston, Gerald Nunes of Boston, Ann Waters of Louisville, KY, Geraldine Fernandes of Brighton, Brian Fernandes of Quincy, Bobby Fernandes of Quincy, Andrew and Jeremy Hardy of Foxboro, MA. Brother of Georgianna Parker of Providence, RI, Michael Sneed of Boston, Claude M. Sneed of Boston, Candida Royster of New Bedford, and the late Alex Sneed. Adopted son and nephew of the late Laura Russell, and cousin of her children, Jeanette Santos, Janie Alexander, Minnie Roderick, Diana Semedo, Irving “Tootsie” Russell, Bernadine Clay-Smith, Barbara Munson, Barry Russell, and the late Gerald Lopes, the late Loretta Lopes, and the late Leroy Russell. Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces. Visiting hours on Friday, Septmeber 10, 2010, from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, (Rte. 28), WAREHAM, MA, 02571. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham, MA, 02571, on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 10:00 A.M.
