WARING Sumner James “Jim” Waring, Jr., age 74, a 4th generation Funeral Service Professional for over 50 years and Chairman of Affiliated Family Funeral Service, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Fall River surrounded by his family after a valiant effort to combat cancer. He was the husband of Elizabeth “Liz” A. (Westgate) Waring, with whom he recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. In addition to his wife, “Liz,” he leaves a son Sumner J. “Jay” Waring, III, and his wife Kristin of Mattapoisett and Houston, Texas, a daughter Christine E. Waring of Providence, RI, a sister Sally Buffinton and her husband Thomas of Marion, MA, three granddaughters Abigail, Elizabeth and Frances Waring, mother-in-law Muriel Westgate Emerson of Fall River, MA and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara Chamberlain. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at10 a.m. in the First Congregational church, 282 Rock Street, Fall River.
