SKABEIKIS Algimantas “AL”, 81 passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at home after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of61 years to Birute Skabeikis. He was born in Lithuania, lived in Randolph for many years and moved to Carverseveral years ago. He was the son of the late Jouzas and Jadvyga Skabeikis. Before retiring, he worked at BIW Cable Co. In his earlier years, he coached the Lithuanian basketball team. He was named to the South Boston Sports Hall of Fame. Al was on the board of directors of Taupa Lithuanian Credit Union. Al was also the past president and manager of the Lithuanian Citizens Association. He enjoyed watching sports, trips to Foxwoods, the Plymouth waterfront and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ellen Zemeitus & her husband Robert of Middleboro, Ausra Moller and her husband Rick of Seekonk, Ed Skabeikis and his wife Pamela of Carver and Lisa Skabeikis-Watson of Carver. Brother of John Skabeikis and his wife Adele of Rockland and the late Joseph Skabeikis. Al was Papa to 6 grandchildren, Christina Munro Abair, Robert Zemeitus Jr., Alycia Munro McCarthy, Ryan Skabeikis-Watson, Roger Michael Duphilly and Leah Daley. Great grandpa of 4, Nathan McCarthy, Layne and Jeremy Abair and Jesse Joseph Zemeitus. Visiting hours will be held at The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON on Friday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
