MACLACHLAN Andrew Laird, 88, of East Kingston, died at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on June 27, 2016. He was born November 9, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to Andrew Dugald and Muriel (Sutherland) Maclachlan. While still in high school he moved with his family to Melrose, Massachusetts. Andy met his wife, Phyllis Lowe (Winde) while in high school and they were married 67 years ago at First Congregational Church in Melrose. After high school, he served aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Campbell. Andy graduated from Harvard University in the class of 1951. He worked in the steel industry as a manufacturer’s representative for many years and later was owner and president of Winde-McCormick, Inc. in Woburn MA. Andy is survived by his wife, Phyllis, daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Maclachlan and Frederick Healey of West Newbury, Massachusetts; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Kathleen of Bremen, Maine; granddaughter and partner, Lauren Maclachlan and Michael Iffland of Lee NH; grandson Douglas Maclachlan of Portland ME; great-grandson, Lothian Andrew Maclachlan of Portland ME; and sister Mora Maclauclan of Washington state. Arrangements were made by Cremation Society of NH. A private graveside service will be held at Harmony Cemetery, Boxford, Massachusetts later this summer.
