ANDERSON Barbara E., age 64, of Dorchester, formerly of South Boston and Savin Hill, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Carney Hospital, Mount Sinai Unit, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born in Boston, raised and educated in Dorchester and South Boston schools and was a graduate of South Boston High School, Class of 1966. She has lived in Dorchester for most of her life. Barbara was employed for over eleven years as an executive secretary for the Boston Police Department. Previously, she had worked at the Boston Globe for over twenty years as a purchasing agent. She was an avid reader, enjoyed travelling and was totally devoted to her family and friends. Beloved mother of Christopher J. Anderson of Dorchester. Loving companion of Richard J. Cully of Milton. Devoted daughter of the late John W. and Mary E. (McDonough) Anderson and granddaughter of the late Thekla Anderson. Dear sister of Patricia Dalton of Quincy, Kathleen Rufo of Weymouth, Edward Anderson of Dorchester, the late Robert, Richard, James, John, and June Anderson. Also survived by extended family, Khalid and Abir Chaouieche and many nieces, nephews and friends.
