RIVERA Bernard P., 89, of Salem, NH died Tuesday, Sept. 1st at the Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley in Haverhill, MA. Bernard grew up in Boston’s North End and was a member of the Sulmona Club. He was a self-employed painter for many years. Bernard was an avid Red Sox fan. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (Sacco) and Joaquin Rivera, his daughter, Maria Rivera and his siblings, Felicia Belair and Edward Rivera. He is survived by his sons, Jack Rivera and his wife Sheryl of Derry, NH and Michael Rivera of Salem, NH; his siblings, Jose Rivera of Jamaica Plain, Francisco Rivera of Stoneham, MA and Pilar Valverde of Denver, CO; 2 grandchildren, Nicholas and Jason Rivera and several nieces and nephews. There will not be any public funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bernard’s name to: Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 531313, Henderson, NV 89053.
