GITTENS David B. of Cambridge, October 26, 2015. Retired Sergeant of the Cambridge Police Dept. and late US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Beloved husband of Thelma J. (Jacobs) Gittens. Devoted father of Nicole Gittens of Somerville, Kendra Gittens of Philadelphia, Lindsay Gittens of Boston, Brianna Gittens of Philadelphia, Jill Berry of North Carolina, Cherry Jacobs of Everett and Nikiya Jacobs of Cambridge. Also survived by nine loving grandchildren. Brother of Stephen Gittens of Cambridge. Further survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 2, at St. Paul AME Church, 37 Bishop Allen Drive, CAMBRIDGE from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. with Funeral service to follow from 6:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in David’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472, www.alz.org/donate.asp.
