BONTEMPO Dolena (MacKillop), age 93, passed away peacefully August 6, 2013. Beloved Wife of the late Nicholas “Shoe” Bontempo and Everett MacLean. Devoted Mother of Russell MacLean and his Wife Suncha (Pak) of West Springfield, Theresa Bontempo of York, Prince Edward Island, Canada and Susan DeGroat and her Husband Kirk of Grand Prairie, TX. Born at Fergusons Lake, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada to the late Roderick and Effie (Matheson) MacKillop. She leaves a Sister Jemima and her Husband Neil Shaw of Westmount, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was pre-Deceased by her Brothers: Grant “Donnie” and John and her Sisters: Florence, Rachel, Sarah (Mary), and Annie. She also leaves cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. A longtime resident of “The Lake” in the Nonantum section of Newton, she was also a member of the Presbyterian Church in Needham. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Greater Springfield Senior Services and Governors Center in Westfield for all they did for our mother. Funeral Service Saturday, August 10 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newton. Followed by graveside prayers.
