FINNERAN Br. Dominic, OFM, 95 years of age, a professed Franciscan friar for 74 years, died at Marian Manor, South Boston, Monday morning, September 16, 2013. Beloved son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Cryan) Finneran, he was baptized Mark Thomas Finneran. Brother of the late Joseph, James and Sarah. Br. Finneran devoted his religious life as sacristan in various churches and friaries of Holy Name Province, from 1939. He served locally at St. Francis Friary, Brookline from 1958 to 1971 and St. Anthony Shrine, Boston, where he eventually became senior associate friar. A Wake will be held on Wednesday, September 18, from 4:00-5:00 P.M., with a Wake Service at 5:00 P.M. at St. Anthony Shrine (first floor chapel), 100 Arch Street, Boston, MA. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 19, at St. Anthony Shrine (second floor Chapel). Fr. William Beaudin, OFM, will be principal celebrant and Fr. David Convertino, OFM, will be homilist. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass.
