McADAM It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great husband, father, grandfather and friend, Donald A. McAdam. Don was born May 25, 1931 in Newton. He was predeceased by his father, Alexander “Sandy” McAdam, his mother, Florence McAdam and a brother, John “Jack” McAdam. He leaves behind one sister, Mary “Tootsie” Gillis of Medfield, his wife of 59 years Theresa “Terry” (Clynes) McAdam, sons, John “Jack”, Daniel and his wife Meg, daughter Linda and son Michael “Scott” and his wife Louise, five grandchildren Derek, Kevin, Alex, Karina and Andrea, as well as many cousins in Massachusetts and Nova Scotia, Canada. Don was a life member of the American Legion Post 440 in Newton, as well as a Past Commander. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Watertown. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and later worked for Sentry Insurance, as well as retiring from the MA Port Authority. Don also worked for 50 years part-time for Boston College at the Rec-Plex. Visiting hours in the Andrew J. Magni & Son Funeral Home, 365 Watertown Street, Rt. 16, NEWTON, Thursday from 4:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. and again on Friday morning at 10:00 A.M., before proceeding to St. Patrick Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown for a 11:00 A.M. Funeral Mass. Burial St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post 440’s Elevator Fund, 295 California Street, Newton, MA 02458
