SOAR Donald B., 51, of Lancaster, died suddenly on Saturday, October 18, 2014 after being stricken ill. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Nancy (Cushman) Soar; his mother Carol (Laskowsky) Soar of Littleton; his father, Robert B. Soar & wife Diane of Hudson; siblings, Robert B. Soar, Jr. & wife Jean of Templeton; Warren Soar of Poland, ME; Richard Soar of Shirley; Julie Soar & husband Daniel Bell of Lunenburg. He leaves his in-laws, Jean Cushman, Mary & Dave Pavlik, John & Ellen Cushman, Diane & Michael Kosky, Jay Cushman, Robert Hastry, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his sister-in-law Laurie Hastry. Don was born in Concord, raised in Maynard and graduated from the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. He successfully owned and operated Don’s Auto Body in Hudson for many years prior to his current employment as a heavy equipment operator with the Bolton DPW. Don was an accomplished and avid fly fisherman who thoroughly enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He took pleasure in gardening, landscaping, car and truck restoration. He was a volunteer with Project Healing Waters and held membership with the Fly Fishers of America. Don will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., CLINTON. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 4 until 7PM.
