COHEN Donald Edward, 79, of Newton, formerly of Brookline, on Monday, March 18, 2013. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Don had a long and successful career in the insurance and investments field and was a lifelong member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He graduated Brookline High School in 1951; the University of Connecticut in 1955; and served in the U.S. Army in Germany for two years. Don leaves behind his daughter, Jennifer Katz and her partner Jaime Malzman of Newton; son-in-law, Nathaniel Katz of Newton; son Steven Cohen and his husband Bruce Withey of Jamaica Plain; son Michael Cohen of Natick; their mother, Ronnie Lee; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Lynn Cohen of Newton; brother and sister-in-law Alan and Merle Cohen of Southborough. Don was the loving Grandpa of Jessie, Sarah, Noah, and Hannah Katz of Newton and Jeremy, Aaron and Elizabeth Cohen of Jamaica Plain. Don is further survived by his devoted companion, Roberta Seligman, of Natick, her children and grandchildren as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Services at The Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, BROOKLINE on Wednesday, March 20 at 2:00 P.M. Interment at Temple Emeth Memorial Park, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Following the interment, memorial observance at the Clubhouse, 77 Florence Street, Newton through 8:00 P.M. and continuing Thursday 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and Friday 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the home of Steven Cohen and Bruce Withey. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory should be made to Temple Emeth, Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund, 194 Grove Street, Chestnut Hill, MA, 20467.
